Book Scenarios

It's been mentioned that the actions of several books could be ported over to FPC.
First Clash as well as Red Thrust have both been named.
When looking at the actions of First Clash in the book the first thing that strikes me is how small their actions are compared to ours. This map, which is in the creation process is one that would cover the area discussed in the book "First Clash".
The actions in the book First Clash center around the town of Kuppenheim. Which on our maps is a pretty small area. It looks to me like most of the actions in the book would boil down to a single scenario at our scale.
The actions in Red Thrust are equally small scale.
Good Hunting.

Hate to be annoying, even though it has been probably mentioned before, what about Team Yankee and Chieftains?
Thanks

Cauldron by Larry Bond has a number of Brigade level battles that would play nicely in Red Storm in fact that's pretty much why I got Red Storm. Then found out no Airborne OOB's (at least I don't think it has AB OOB's). There are other battles that would fit though. Pits Germans against Poles, US, British and Hungarians. There are a couple of battles described that include the French (German allies of all things) but they get their rear ends handed to 'em and their attitude sucks so bad you're glad they get stomped and run.
Oh well. Ce la vie. Still a good game.

The Airmobile Assault Regiments should give a good approximation of airborne troops. You can't actually 'drop' them, as in seeing them float down in parachutes, but you can have them in scenarios. Ate Up has an Airmobile Assault Regiment in it. And they are inserted.
Good Hunting.

I am looking at doing the battles from First Clash because so much has been said about it and the Canadians are coming. I know of at least one other person that is looking at the battles from Red Thrust. Those are the only books I know of that have scenarios being made.
What about you making them since you seem to have the interest?
Good Hunting.

It's been many, many years since I read it but Team Yankee would be a good candidate for RS scenario ideas. IIRC the hard bound version even has maps. You'd have to extrapolate the battles up though since Team Yankee primarily concentrates the action at company level.

I would love to make some Team Yankee scenarios, but I have no experience in making campaigns/scenarios
Thanks

It's a lot easier than some would think. The hardest part is probably be the map but you can use of the existing maps if they cover the combat area and save a ton of work. Start small and just play around in the editor. Also, as MR said, check the School Section.

I'd probably would have to buy HexDraw and make my own maps as the majority of Team Yankee's maps in the book are fictional towns except that the author has the counterattack go through Thuringerwald and to the Saale River.
Thanks

If the battles are in fictional towns anyway then there would be no need for you to create your own maps. Just find some of the maps in the game that look like the area he describes and go with those.
Good Hunting.
