Matrix Games is pleased to announce that a new update for World in Flames is available to make your wargaming experience even better!
The v1.0.4.1 Update includes a number of Bug and Crash fixes focused on NetPlay games, some auto-save issues and a port attack bugs. The update also adds some gameplay improvements like better calculation of oil needed to reorganize cruisers and also improves the performance of the Seeking Opponent database server for NetPlay.
Check below the full change list:
v1.0.4.1 - December 02, 2013
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a non-fatal problem with canceling using an air reorganization point.
• Fixed a problem with Production Planning where trying to use the Radio Checkbox for Route 1, when a factory was the selected, caused a non-fatal error.
• Revised a check for re-computing production before saving a game. This was generating non-fatal errors at different places in the sequence of play if Auto-save executed while the Production Planning form was open. The auto-saves should no longer encounter this problem.
• Added a check for a valid route existing before displaying an animation of the route’s path.
• Fixed the fatal port attack bug that was introduced in one of the two immediately previous versions.
• Added more details about the problem when an error is returned trying to access the Seeking Opponent database.
• For NetPlay, fixed a problem with starting a new NetPlay game. This bug was introduced in version 1.0.2. These modifications return the program’s behavior for starting a NetPlay game to what had been before version 1.0.2.
• Fixed a problem that was causing a fatal error during port attack anti-aircraft fire when playing head-to-head.
• Removed some checks for maintaining connections to the NetPlay servers and that had had the perverse effect of disconnecting the players’ computers from the servers.
• Fixed a major problem with replying to posts in the NetPlay Seeking Opponent database.
• Increased the frequency of pinging the Seeking Opponent database server from once every two minutes to once a minute. Sending a ‘ping’ tells the server to maintain the connection.
• Fixed a bug with artillery ground strikes and ground support missions where they would get left in the hex they attacked, resulting in an overstack problem later.
• Added some checks to prevent a fatal error in the air-to-air combat form when it was still processing after the game had been terminated.
• Fixed a bug in the calculation of oil needed to reorganize cruisers when playing with Cruisers in Flames.
• Added a check to avoid a non-fatal error when bringing up the UnitsInHex form while there is no detailed map displayed.
• Corrected a problem where displaying an informative message could generate a non-fatal error when a previous informative message was still visible. There were 4 similar forms that had this vulnerability.
• Removed carrier air units from the Selectable Units list when they are on land or being transported by non-carriers. This was primarily a confusing bug since the units were not selectable.
Cosmetic
• Modified the Interactive Tutorial abbreviation list to include MF = Main Form.
To download the update, players can run “Check for Update” via the game menu or on the game’s download page.
