Freeze at Exit

My problem seems to be the opposite of the ones I've read. Game runs beautifully and is very riveting. When I quit the game though, it always freezes/locks the whole computer. Can't do anything, not even ctrl alt del. Mouse doesn't even move either. Have to restart the machine. Ideas? Thanks.
