Question about Postures

I am creating a scenario and I want one side to only fire on another side after the first side attacks. So, my questions is will a side's posture change once it's attacked automatically? For example, Side 2 considers Side 1 "unfriendly". Once Side 1 attacks, will Side 2 designate all of Side 1 target's as "Hostile"??

If you check (on the pop up box where you input sides and postures) "collective responsibility" then all units of the hostile side will be classified hostile when one is. Conversely with that unchecked you avoid that.

Ok but how does the original unit get classified as hostile? Does it happen automatically once it engages an attack? I'm asking because this is for the computer side, so I'm trying to get the computer to only engage after the first attack has occurred.

Usually once it maneuvers in a hostile way, or obviously if it locks on your aircraft. If the incoming plane already knows it is hostile (obviously) then the defending plane will not get much of a warning (sounds like this is what you want to happen) it MAY get a shot off, but in most times I have seen, it will be knocked out. However, immediately the other side will be hostile, and won't get such an easy attack the second time.

Yes, if "collective responsibility" is on, after first attack unfriendly posture change to hostile. You can check postures any time in scenario editor. You actually see posture change to hostile.
