Hey you guys........I was looking through the classic scenario's looking for a new thrill and picked out Desert Storm 91 and
opened it up and looked over the Allied side somewhat.......450+ units for the Coalition side and 600 units for the Iraqies too big
for my taste. But I decided to find out about the supply situation and the Iraq side is dreadfull. I don't mind fixing it so that it's again
playable but somebody will have to tell me how to do it. Any scenario designers out there want to share some advice?

The Allied side supply level seems okay

Could Iraq move any supplies around with the Coalition Air Force having 100% control of the area ? I'm no expert on the campaign, but I think the answer is no. So even though I suspect you have New Supply On which makes it worse, it doesn't get much better using old supply rules.

However, if you want to change something, I would suggest raising the Iraqi's Overall Force Stockpile Level. Making it 50 will give the Iraqi's 20 on turn 1. Its a little complicated so first look at this screenshot :

So you can see in the screen shot that the designer gave Iraq 40% Shock on turn 1 (why the 80% chance I have no idea). This Shock Value reduces Iraq's Supply Level from 22 to 9 on turn 1. So to overcome this you must raise the Overall Force Supply Level to 225% of whatever you want their level to be (50 if you want it to be 22).

To complicate matters, Event 19 gives Iraq a 65% chance of 70% Shock on turn 2, then Event 20 gives a 100% chance of 100 Shock on turn 3.

Its fun to play if you like RBC's and take the Coalition side. [;)]

Larry,

Check the allied off-map airfields. IIRC they are unsupplied. In addition, Iraqi scuds can wipe out the B52 bombers on Diego Garcia.

Best wishes,
Steve

Thanks for the heads up I'll move the planes off the off-map areas. Either that or give them a supply point. And the scuds, um.....I
guess the answer for that is to take out the scuds during turn one when the coalition moves first.

sPzAbt653,

Interesting. How do you work out this calculation?

The answer lies here in Steve's bloody marvelous tool:

The problem with some pre-3.4 scenarios are the AD, MRPB and supply values. In my game vs. Iain, Cruasader '41 the supply levels are really screwed up...

From looking over the Excel sheet I agree with your characterization of it. This is a fine tool. Thank you.
