Hello all,

The latest update for SPM is now available. During the rest of the year (and possibly the first couple of weeks into 2014 as well), the updates will be available for you to download directly from the Matrix FTP: ftp://beta.matrixgames.com . When prompted, please specify the following username and password: SPMBetaTester/SpmBeta1114.

Inside the FTP you will find a rar file, just download it and overwrite your current installation with its contents. Notice that you need to have updated to SPM 0.7.8 first in order for it to work properly.

We made this decision of switching to the FTP mostly because of the following two reasons:

1) The size of the last two patches was over 1.25 GB. Since we always provide comprehensive update files, sticking to the old method would have meant yet another 1.25 GB download this week. The new file is around 360 MB, so you will be able to grab the update a lot quicker [:)]
2) It allows me to upload patches during the rest of the year without having to wait for Matrix to resume activities after the Christmas break, which will start next Friday.

About the update itself, we have included some bugfixes and lots of new gameplay mechanics related to personnel and personnel management, including retirement, morale, paycuts/payrises and advanced training. You can find the full changelog here.

I hate to be "that guy", but every time I try to log into the FTP I get a 530 error. What do?

Also. haven't seen a change log. Can you post it?

Can you try with a different browser? Also, make sure you're not grabbing the '/' character if you're doing a copy-paste of the username and password.

I'm having a similar problem, but not every time. My system is a 3.4Gb I3 processor with 8Gb RAM running Windows 8. Video card is a Geforce GTX 650TI Turbo with 1Gb VRAM

I'm puzzled! Try grabbing it using the Filezilla client. Let me know if you're still stuck.

OK, so I downloaded the files and applied them to the original game folders, but the game would n't work. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled the original game, and tried the 'Update SPM'option in the game menu. This gives an error message 'Unable to detect the installed version. Could not get the specified value's data.' I am running the game on an Acer Aspire V3-571G with 8Gb Ram, Nvidia GeForce 630M with 1 Gb VRAM, and Windows 8.
