I have found DaBabes stuff and the alternate art. The Beta by Michael is confusing to me since there seems to be so many. Can someone point me to the latest one and I would be much obliged. Also I'd like to know if the beta makes gameplay better than vanilla AE, what is the consensus?

The very first post of Michael's Beta thread is always updated to have the latest Beta attached. So, always just go to the first post on that thread.

As far as the differences, too many to mention. The Beta thread has a list of changes, and there is also a PDF file with the list of changes that is provided when the Beta is installed.

I highly recommend the Beta as there are many, many fixes and various improvements to the interface.
