France and China Oil/Factory Related Questions

Playing Decline and Fall and Sept 44 turn. I have a French Oil in the UK with some French SCS, HQ, etc. But during reorg it will not allow me to reorg these units.

Also, Brits have captured blue French factory from Germans. When can the French start using it or will it be under Brit control?

Finally, how do I get oil to China? I assume one way is to capture Rangoon and CP some oil there and then up the Burma road. I can't see another way since the China seas are all Japan controlled now and USSR has no rail link since at peace with Japan.

Oil send in from trade agreements can only be used for production or can be saved that turn. You can only use oil for reorganisation if you control it (and oil from trade is not controlled by you until the final production planning phase arrives). That might be the problem here.

The CW should be able to revert the factory hex to France in the Liberation step. I don't know if that has been coded correctly at this moment.

China can only get oil through the Burma road or through a neutral French Indo China.

Not sure how the French oil got into the UK. You are only supposed to be able to save a major power's own oil in hexes it controls.

Individual hex reversion to the country that controlled it in 1939 is what you'd do in the boardgame, but is not coded in MWiF. You won't be able to use that factory until France is liberated. Meanwhile, the Axis ought to be destroying any blue factories they still occupy. This is often done when first taken in 1940 and can be done as long as enemy units are in the country.

Red factories in France are nice for the Allies to take, since they can use them up until they liberate France, and then the French can use them.

Yea I was wondering how it got there too... Maybe I did a trade if that is even possible. So do I have to wait for France to be liberated before I can send it oil or send to N Africa maybe? It's navy is paralyzed due to lack of oil and it won't use the one in the UK (seems a bug there somewhere).

Thanks for the tip on factories in France. This is my first 'big game' - lot to absorb and mistakes/overlooking something can be costly. But fun learning...

You can lend them an oil and save it in any city or port that France owns that has a CP chain to it.

The French oil shouldn't be in the UK and it looks like the game is ignoring it anyway, which is good.

When France survives with a good size navy (which is what I personally try to engineer as the Allies) then you do have to lend them oil regularly to keep that navy operational.
