A question about civilian ships

Hi. Is there any way to hide the civilian ships running around your empire?
I have seen one option in advanced settings, but it doesnt look to work.
I mean, I only want to see the state-owned ships.
Thanks!

The only way I know to change stuff like that is in the "Advanced Settings" under "Display Settings" in the "Options" menu. Here you can select not to show private ships. However, this only works in the "galaxy view" (i.e. when you are well scrolled out). As soon as you scroll back in, all the ships will appear again, and I'm not aware of any way to stop this happening.
If the private fleet travel vectors are bothering you, note that these can be switched off for private fleets by going to the mini-map on the bottom right and clicking the button the fourth from the left at the top of the mini-map. It gives a tooltip reading: "Show travel vectors for private ships". Switching this to OFF might help you.
