[DONE] New scenario for testing: Albania Airstrike

This is my first uploaded scenario, an Italian airstrike on Albanian bases in the mid-1980s. It's not the most detailed or historically accurate, and still is a little rough around the edges. Regardless, here it is, and please comment on it.

I liked this one. I played it twice...I got slaughtered the first time, and then played smarter and got a Triumph. Nice, fast, action-filled scenario.

What I would do to make it better...

1) To increase the sense of "realism," use some version of the "five paragraph order" format for the Side Briefing. Wikipedia has a brief explanation...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_paragraph_order

As you can see, there are various related formats. I generally use a variation borrowed from Harpoon: SEFMEC (SITREP/INTEL, ENEMY FORCES, FRIENDLY FORCES, MISSION, EXECUTION, COMMAND AND SIGNAL)

2) In the briefing, perhaps provide more information on exactly what you want people to shoot at...what targets, if any, are priorities, or should they just try to do as much damage as possible?

3) Unless the Italian bases are in danger, you may not need to include the aircraft on Maintenance, although it does add a bit to the realism to keep them in, either way.

4) Once you eliminate the Albanian fighters, the bases are pretty vulnerable...their defenses will get a few Italian aircraft, but not that many. I'm not sure what can be done to make it more challenging (more AAA guns?), or if it needs to be--maybe that's just the key to winning the scenario--but I thought I should mention it.

Anyway, I hope all this helps.

Mark

Glad you liked it. I tried to design it so that you had to play right. Do you mind me asking details of how the attempts went (tactics, losses, etc..) and what you did differently the second time?

All right. The preliminary briefing I did last, because I was more focused on getting the actual scenario to work. I'll do a more detailed and realistic briefing-including the targets.

I like putting a few maintenance fighters in airbases for decoration/realism.

Thanks for mentioning it. I don't intend to make the ground air defense more challenging than it already is.
Anyway, I hope all this helps.

It definitely does, thank you for commenting.

Nice little one. Probably nitpicking but can you rename the Italian bases to their RL names? Thanks.
