Airborne Units

I have been looking in the editor & I see airborne units have the number 13 inputted under their symbol box. However, I didn't think that any formations other than infantry could be airlifted & dropped by parachutes. (ie no arty, tanks, engineers) But in the editor under Locations theirs an artillery battalion, 462nd Parachute FA Bn (Location number 5251) that has 13 in their symbol box.

So will they drop in a parachute drop in game & if so will their 75mm pack how. arrive in the drop? It is my understanding that any LCU could be transported by air, either by parachute drop or regular air transport, but in either case none of the LCU's "heavy weapons" could be shipped by air. Arty and what not would be left behind at the departing base because aircraft couldn't load them. Am I right about this?

If I'm wrong, are their limits on what can be transported by aircraft? I mean obviously you cant transport Sherman tanks by air, but what about the 462 FA BN? The editor shows them with only five 75mm Pack How. can I change them out for five 105mm How. or even ten 75mm How.

Thus how does this airborne parachute transport & air transport mechanic work in game? Will the 462nd actually para drop with their 75mm How.?

Hope my questions make sense & that somebody can answer them.

Thanks[&o]

Non-squad devices with a load cost of 7 or less can be parachute dropped.  Non-squad devices with a load cost of 9 or less can be transported by air between bases.  The 75mm Pack Howitzer has a load cost of 9, so it cannot be dropped, but it can be transported by air from base to base.

Thanks for the info, so the 462nd shouldn't even have the airborne symbol 13 in the editor because they can't be dropped by parachute.
