I am playing a witp vanilla game where my opponent has invaded and captured Chandpur/Dacca/Calcutta/Diamond Harbor by mid 1942. Now investing Asonsal and likely to march next to Lucknow with 100K troops. I noted the rule 8.3.5 in AE and was wondering from future reference if anyone knows what reinforcements might appear in Northern India if I were playing AE. As it is; the available troops are unlikely to halt the IJA march given the need to garrison Ceylon, Madras, Hyberbad, Delhi, Bombay and Calcutta.

I am having no success in getting my troops to disengage/retreat at Asonsal & Jamshedpur; if IJA bombards, my moves are cancelled.

8.3.5 COUNTER INVASION FORCES
If ground units from one side or the other move into certain areas of the map they will trigger various reinforcements for the other side to appear. The reinforcements that appear are dependent on the area that is entered. These areas include:
Japanese Entry of:
»»Northern India
»»New Zealand
»»Southern Australia
»West Coast of North America south of Vancouver.
Allied Entry of:
»»Japan
»»Indo-China by the Chinese

A first! Japanese signals intercepts actually work! NOW I know the British attitude to our heroic campaign to free the oppressed peoples of India. And how do I know this? He tells me!

I wonder would there be a VP cost to this? Presumably the troops would be stripped from the middle east. Five infantry divisions plus armour would rule out any offensive in that theatre and probably would have meant the loss of Egypt.

No penalties involved, just a considered reaction requiring extreme measures to defends one's homeland instead of a far flung place.
