I was so pleased to see more Coast Guard vessels in the newest DB3000 release that I whipped up a short USCG scenario. Catch a drug dealer on his way to the Dominican Republic...if you can!
Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

No way, scenario ended without a clue where the drugs dealer is despite the extensive use of the helo....I'll try again. Interesting little scenario.

The drug dealer drove right into my trap. It however required some effort to close the trap. Always fun with high-speed chases that includes machine-guns.
Fun scenario!

The drug runners are safe in my hands - couldn't find them.
However I could have done with a bit more information. The scenario ended at the time limit but I had (have) no idea whether the drug runners made it (and I missed them) or whether I had deterred them sufficiently by active patrolling.
Would be a useful adjunct to the information available
But an enjoyable scenario nonetheless.
Time for a third go round.

Just knowing where Jamaica is, is the only information you would need. Since playing Pirates in the early 90´s I know the Caribbean as the back of my hand.

I got him, good fun scenario. I am surprised that the Dolphin SAR Helo doesn't even have Nav radar, that would have been very useful. Once I realized that the little bugger could out pace the Thetis I was very glad that the positioning was right. Mind you the OTO Melara 76 mm gun on this ship fires all over the map (miss distances of 1.5 - 2.5 Km), so it reassures me that the fire control modelling in the game is pretty good, on a Navy ship with proper fire control that gun would hit on the 2nd or 3rd round with miss distances measured in 10's of meters not thousands of meters. Very cool.
More variety in civilian sea traffic would be good. I was able to discount several contacts based on speed. A few fast pleasure craft or perhaps a flock of fishing vessels in the area of the contact. With that gun accuracy, civilians close by should give the player caution. There is a ship close by which starts moving at about the time the smuggler passes but he is not fast enough to get in the way.
Thanks
B

Good suggestion. Thanks. I'll add a few more civilian craft for the final release.
