I don't know for sure but, IIRC, Win98 is popular as a platform for SPWAW. MCLV problems aren't really a function of the OS. If you post your specific problem someone will surely help you out.

win XP pro. No crashes yet, neither in LV or SPWAW in general.

Chilly.....I vote for Win95(b), its old but it likes old game machines like SPwaw etc. My only problem with SPwaw is trying to win a game. Win95 is a solid system.

Never had a problem with either Win 98 nor any problem with current version of XP Pro.

Like I said, that isn't an OS problem. It's a bug in the MC. gmenfan is great at solving those problems (no pressure gmenfan;) ).

What version of SPWAW are you running, OOB version, and have you installed LV patch 1.1 as a minimum? And how did you arrive at your current version of SPWAW. There are still some bugs in LV and the designer is still working on a final patch to be released within the next 2 months.

I've been running W2k for a couple of years now, without a hitch (I know, I know, but it's true). I knew my MCSE would come in handy....

Chilly let me check my node sheet when I get home and see if that battle still had problems after the current patches that was being repaired in the final patch. Ok I'm not showing that to be a problem child but if it's having a consistant problem with that particular battle maybe something slipped under the radar that is being reworked in the final patch. Several appeared to be fixed that cropped up at a later date posing problems depending on the previous path arriving to it.

thanks GMENFAN... I appreciate your help.......I have started lost victories 5 different times and everytime it ends at that battle on that turn crashing over and over......the only other thing I can add is that its a soviet machine gun that fires on the soviet turn that seems to be the trigger for the crash back to desktop.....and if I restart the save it does the same thing at that turn..

You didn't install the modified MG sound that used to posted on The Armor Site, because recently I have found some people still had this updated soundinstalled and it was causing CTD's until the sound was replaced with the original.

That was exactly my problem with CTD (i.e. MG fire) and replacing the modified .shp file ICON0015.shp with the original sure solved my problem. No more CTD for me! I'm soooo happy.
