I had problems with the database not appearing when I click on the "Type: XXX" button or by using the drop down menu.
I fixed this by re-installing the game.

Next time it happens

Open command
Select Game from the top menu and Game Options from the drop down
Press the Reset Positions of Secondary Windows Button
