Hello,

When launching the game an error box immediately appears with the following title : "Archive error" and the following message : "Failed to open archive".

My dxdiag is attached.

I managed to solve it.

Avast was preventing the game from accessing files. Once the game is white listed everything runs fine.

My antivirus software (Kaspersky Internet Security) updates automatically in the background.

I have read Banditu's posts.
Even when I Close Kaspersky Internel Securety and then start the game I get the same error message.

A log is generated only when the game starts, right?
With me the game will not start at all.
But there is a fresh log:

thanks for the log, it only tells us what you already said. The game does not start and the error is during loading the .dat archive.

This is either caused by a program hindering the access or by damage of some sort.

Did you try to reinstall the game ?

No effect! [:(]

I know it's not the game.
Few weeks ago it worked flawless.
