Curious about Gameplay

So I just started looking into this game, and it looks like it could be interesting. Just a few questions about how the game will play, namely:

Heroes: They can lead armies, and enable you to play certain abilities and fight tactical battles. Do they gain experience? Can they impact combat in other ways? Can they do things like run quests or manipulate the campaign in ways other than combat?

Leaders: Is your leader represented as a hero in the game?

Infrastructure: What effect does province infrastructure have on the game? I see things like "patron of the arts", levels of fortifications and landmarks. Are there any other types of infrastructure? Is there infrastructure you can build?

Magic: Can you use magic to influence the global map? Battles? Anything else?

Other than combat: How can you get ahead and damage your enemy's other than in combat? Quests? Raiding? Espionage? Are any of these things in the game, or are my options limited to looting and pillaging?

Late Game Transitions: So, games like Dominions tend to transition from troops to thugs to supercombatants/world destroying spells. I was wondering if this game had similar style of transitions in mind to transition between game phases, or how you progress your empire?

Heroes represent the leaders or generals of armies. They can over time become Legendary Heroes and gain an extra card to play in battle. You choose which path to take. If our Taskmaster becomes Legendary, you may choose either:

Driven Duty: If you are the Attacker, increase Victory Turns by 2. If you are the defender, decrease Victory Turns by 2.
Fear of the Lash: All your Units suffer a -1 Morale for the remainder of this battle. All of your Units gain +1 Attack and +1 Move for the remainder of your turn.

The "experience" system for Heroes and Units is not a progressive system like "experience points". Rather it is a "medal awarding" system after a battle that recognizes exceptional valor in battle, especially against odds.

An infrastructure element like Patron of Arts: Statecraft grants your realm diplomatic bonuses with all realms. A Cradle of Science: Medicine immunizes that province from The Plague, and further grants any Healers in your realm the ability to negate the Plague in their province. Patrons of Arts and Cradles of Science are pretty rare. Forts appear in tactical battles as major obstacles to objectives, or in auto-battles as tough supporting units.

Spells are cast on the campaign level, though those effects may certainly be felt in battle. You might cast a Column of Flame to damage an enemy Stack before launching a land assault. You might cast Wild Hunt on your units to grant movement and ranged attack bonuses to your units before entering battle.

Raids are viable tactics, whether in tactical or auto-battle. A player may attack another province and then retreat before sustaining unacceptable losses. This is especially true if you have some mobile ranged units. Auto-battles also support "raider" strategies of bloodying the enemy without necessarily taking ground.

Espionage is rolled into Realm Spells. Spells such as Wormtongue, Thievery and Treachery undermine other realms. Note that your choice of realm determines what spells are available to you. If you enjoy "cloak and dagger" style gameplay, realms like Crivia, Calland, or Ladvia could be interesting choices.

In Sovereignty, spells are always intended to augment, but not replace strategy. They create conditions, obstacles, or in cases like Treachery, "bend the rules". A Column of Flame will never destroy a stack, but it can serve as a fine bombardment preparatory to your main assault...

Good Hunting!

sounds like rpg meets a war sim, medieval mind you, is it part of a series of games? as i'm new and have no idea i'm sorry to say if it's a silly question, that's already been asked somewhere, but i couldn't find it, feel free to laugh :)

the general look and feel looks well polished tbh from just the screenshots posted, how long in development etc?
is there a general spec you're looking for release, low to mid range, mid to high etc?

will there be a follow on? add on's? or dlc missions etc, and editor maybe?

don't need to ask about support as if it's on Matrix, support will be top class as always.... [&o][&o][&o]

operating systems supported? vista,xp,win7 / 8/8.1 etc? or multi platform release at a later date etc....

i already read the bit about a steam release, so steam and box? or just steam, guessing you will do both tbh.

can't think of anything else atm, but trust me i will, as my brain ticks i write it down then ask, at any time of the day and night :)

Welcome, zak!

Sovereignty presents a new world with its own history and lore. Release dates, add-ons, etc will but up to Matrix. We're first concentrating on first release. Then we'll tackle the future.

Good Hunting!
