simple changes?

If i rename land units, will this in any way affect net-play or email play in the future?
If i change colors of any bitmaps, will this in any way affect net-play or email play in the future?
When skynet takes over the AI, will it accept my changes in solo play if i rename units or change colors to anything in the bitmaps?

No effect except for the special units. HQs should not be renamed since their appearance at setup is done by name. Some other special units shouldn't be renamed either: the divisional units for air landing and marine armor (if I remember correctly). There are special rules for whether they can be broken down or not, which refers to them by name.
