English:
I have attempted the translation from DW Shadows into german language. I have reached this goals so far:

[*] Translated the file "GameText.txt" (the parts, which are english yet)
[*] Translated all Tutorials (Directory "Tutorial")
[*] Translated all diplomatic dialogs, which are english yet (Directory "dialog")
[*] Translated 100 of 277 Helpfiles
[*] Fixed other errors in the GameText.txt , which could cause ctds

Problems not fixed:

[*] Whenn beginning a new game, the buttons in the second screen (Kolonisation & Territorium) are english yet, although they are translated in the "GameText.txt"
[*] The Titels in the Tutorials are english yet, because there translation causes ctds when starting a tutorial
[*] The components can not be translated, because the are hardcoded

New Version V8 (needs gameversion 1.9.0.13):

Infos to install are included in the Liesmich.txt

If you use the Translation, please let me know about errors, so i can fix it. The translation will be not perfect.

Ich habe mich an die Übersetzung von DW Shadows gewagt und bisher folgendes erreicht:

[*] Die Datei "GameText.txt" (die Teile, die noch nicht deutsch waren) übersetzt
[*] Alle Tutorials (im Ordner "Tutorial")
[*] Alle Dialoge der Diplomatie, die noch nicht deutsch waren (im Ordner "dialog")
[*] 100 von 277 Hilfedateien übersetzt
[*] Weitere Fehler in der GameText.txt behoben, welche zu Abstürzen führen konnten.

Nicht gelöste Probleme:

[*] Wenn man ein neues Spiel beginnt, sind die Buttons im zweiten Bildschirm (Kolonisation & Territorium) noch auf Englisch, obwohl die entsprechende Texte in der "GameText.txt" übersetzt sind.
[*] Die Überschriften in den Tutorials sind noch auf Englisch, da eine Übersetzung dieser zu einem Spielabsturz führt, wenn man das Tutorial starten will.
[*] Die Schiffskomponenten haben noch ihre englischen Bezeichnungen. Das wird sich auch nicht ändern, da sie hardcoded sind.

The component names may be hardcoded and can't be edited maybe.

"Smuggling Evasion" - Just a guess but I would think the skill gives the ability to evade trace scanners.

The translation, guessing from the screenshot, looks fine so far

Okay, this mean, that this Skill is good for Smuggler. Less Chance to be discovered...

Translation:
The Translation is not complete and not perfect. Only today i have many things in the GameText.txt corrected... Forgotten translations, to big passages (optic on the screen), formulations that are not good. *g*

Hey, great project you startet! The dream of a DW complete in German is still alive.
I have a translatet gametext.txt (Shadows) from a person, maybe you!?!

But there are no ability to change the following:
- empire Names
- Ship Names
- Tech Names
- enumeration (for example: 1st, 2nd, 3rd...)

and I dont know if they are translatet in the official German release (DW+RotS) from dtp. It would be fantastic if Matrix Games make it free editable in a text file.

Changes in the textfile apparently leads to text.string-errors and CtD-events. Maybe that one must start a new game without editing anything in the text files. I´m trying a savegame to play 50 years, after that I play a new game with ready text files and report the results here

I have problems with ctds too... The error GxHab. Today i found out, that this is probably a version conflict because i worked with an outdatet GameText.txt. So i must compare my GameText.txt with the newer one from patch 1.09.0.13. I think the error was caused from changed keys in the file.

Ship Names can you set in the shipnames.txt, the enumeration is hardcoded, the Tech Names too. Empire Names i haven't found too, perhaps in the Races-directory. later i must see.

I think, the errors are because the German textes are longer than the English ones. the more you translate, the more violent are the crashes
I will go on with testing with an existing savegame...

I will test this... Eventually the Problem are the missing spaces beteeen a text and {...
I have compared and checked my translated gametext.txt with ne newest from last patch, an there was differeces with missed keywords. I have corrected the file, but the error still appeeras... But from the missing spaces i had no idea.

the problem you are probably having is the game still needs the English version of the name to be able to run. It is kinda of dependent on that. Thats how the game knows where to put code. So if you change any files that is dependent on that the game will crash. At least that is what i think.

So say you want to edit this the special fuction is ; so that is that the game needs, so the one proir to to that can be edited. and the spacing only needs to be a tab for it to be able to read it. This is according to all the test I have done. I have yet to play around with the Game.txt file yet. When I do There will be a tool for it shortly after wards.

I have a new version published. I have massivly worked on the GameText.txt and the last 12 ingame hours i have no further errors encountered.

I am glad to hear this.
Do not be surprised if no update occurs. I'm hard on work and have now already more than half of all help files ready.
I also have found that some help files are not on the level of DW Shadows, so I have to adjust it. I have also added additional information to some files.

A user in a other forum tolds me a problem:
When you have not installed Adblock+, its better to not follow the link to my file. The hoster will try to foist you with crapware. I must search an serious hoster, i would not support such a bustle.
