When attacking with armor units or motorized units should I add the pioneer and flak units to them units and switch them up as I'm attacking. I played the 42 to 45 scenario both as German and Russian and the AI just wollips me in its moves and railroads units so much better than I do. Tks Joe. [:D]

Try assigning support units to corps that control your field divisions, getting some useful pieces to all corps. You need these for defense as much as for attack. '42 Axis campaign starts with many frozen units, even fronts. You need to collect AP's until able to reactivate units in a useful way. Not sure what happens if you play with "inactive" pieces. They become "static" and aren't very useful.
You should be able to match, at least, the AI...

For a good strategy guide as Axis vs the AI in the 42 campaign, I recommend Pyledriver's AAR "OKH Plan 1942" in the top section of the AAR forum. Although many game rules and features have changed since then, the overall strategic plan is sound IMHO and Pyledriver gave some very good tips on how to get started as the Axis. In particular, he shows in detail how he shortened the lines and wiped out enemy salients in order to get a much better position.

For instance if I attach support units from army to a corps it will automatically support the division in an attack or defence.
