Another Win 8 issue.

The good news is the game is running great on windows 8. I prefer to run industry by clicking on the base but
I've been making changes through the
industry management screen as a work around.

I spent the better part of my gaming yesterday cycling through all my windowed screen sizes to no avail .

The catch 22 is in windows 8 full screen the game runs so slow I just can't tolerate it, in windowed mode
it's very fast but I don't get to see the industry icons at the bottom of the screen. I don't know if this can be solved but anyone that has a work-around I'd like to hear it.

Here's what the bottom of my screen looks like.

Much thanks!

Adjust your resolution settings to your liking. I experimented and settled on these for my screen (the whole command line from the shortcut is included) on a laptop (Win 8):

"C:\Matrix Games\WITP AE - PBM #1\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -archive -wd -deepColor -px1366 -py768 -fixedArt -noFire -SingleCpuOrders -cpu3

And I use these for a desktop (Win7):

"C:\Matrix Games\WITP AE - PBM #1\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -cpu4 -dd_sw -archive -wd -pxf1920 -pyf1018 -noFire

Obviously your folder location and such might differ.

I've got this same problem where my desktop taskbar covers up the land units/factory part of the game. I've tried a few things but nothing has worked to fix it unless I just didn't use the right combo in the right order??? My current switches are -w -deepColor -px1366 -py768 -cpu2 -multiaudio -dd_sw -skipVideo. I have tried the -altFont, -deepColor as well as no/smaller px/py settings & did see the diff in the text for the -altFont but nothing as far as screen display problem I'm having. My display settings on desktop are 1366x768 on a 15" monitor but can only go lower to 1024/768 but things get blurry at those settings.
