Dear All,

in my alert page I receive always messages like this for 3-4 bases every turn
Probably it is a silly question, but I can't find a solution
What shall I do to solve this situation?

Thanks

Paolo

If you're the Allies don't worry about it.

Cause you don't need all of your refineries to produce fuel. You have an abundance of fuel coming from Aden and the US. No need to ship oil. Ship fuel to where it's needed.

Check out the recent discussion labeled, "Problems loading Oil" started by 'wga'. I've just gone through this same issue with my Allied effort, namely the two small refineries in Sydney & Melbourne.

I confess, I have control issues and it's an irritant to let those refineries sit idle.

It's much more efficient to ship fuel from Los Angeles or Abadan to Australia and rely on the HI to pump out supply points than worry about their oil needs.

The way I came to peace on this (I've got to always tell the bigger story in my mind), is to assume what the pre-war shipping was. I'm guessing one or two of those small Dutch Tankers (1500 ton cargo) would ship oil from that small oil port in Western Dutch New Guinea (sorry, my PC is down and the Super Bowl is starting soon..... the port's named Bodo, or Bolo or some such). Shipping to Townsville, the oil would have completed the journey by rail to Sydney and Melbourne.

I was able to evacuate those small Dutch Tankers as the DEI's fell. I moved one of them all the way to Pearl. It's currently shuttling fuel to Midway. With a cruise speed of 8 knots, it could not do the job. And it's just not worth using a large tanker to meet those small refineries needs.

Now down the road, once the Allies are moving towards Tokyo, if your strategic air hasn't reduced that port to rubble, you could resume this oil shipment and get those refineries up and running again after liberating that port.

Gotta go.... the 12 hour pre-game show is wrapping up and my pot of chili is bubbling away on the stove.

[:D]

I try to look at things from an historical economic bases. Would the Australian Government let the refinery workers stay in the unemployment line? Although I admit I don't bother shipping oil from the West Coast, although I believe Historically we did. It was one of those websites that I found but didn't bookmark.
