Does anyone have any thoughts about this turn based 4X?

I cannot remember, but I think some of the screen shots look like Gal Civ, which would be a great thing.

Clearly, Distant Worlds is the best of all.

I dont like round based games and will ever stay with Distant worlds
But this is a promotion to Horizon

It's being billed as the successor to MOO/MOO2, but having played it for about 4 hours I don't personally think it's as good as MOO2.

The one thing I do like about it is that when you play as humans you get to start in the solar system. Ok, Pluto is called a planet, but I can live with that. A lot of people still think Pluto is a planet

Unfortunately, I don't find the rest of the game very interesting. On the other hand, I'm not the best person to ask, as the only space 4x games I've ever really liked are Reach for the Stars, MOO, MOO2 and DW (and, trust me, I've played almost all of them)

Tried Horizon this last weekend. Meh, not terrible mind you, but not that good either. Some may like it but after 10-12 hours I grew bored.

I had some fun with it.I enjoy the tactical combat,non linear research,planet specials and the story aspects.The economy and expansion parts are far too simple.The race graphics are not the best either[:D]

I have been playing a bit of FreeOrion and the game is starting to look very interesting.I can't wait for version 1.

But yeah... some of them are cartoonish.

It sucks. Everything that Horizon does has been done better in other games, especially DW, MOO, and Endless Space.

After 7 hours of playing i like Horizon much better then Endless Space. ES was not my game.
But of course, Horizon is no MOO

PS: at least ES have graphic and fluffy GUI. Horiozon have non.

It would be nice if Horizon had Endless Space graphics and colony management.
But overall I think I enjoy Horizon more than Endless Space. Mostly because ES combat sucks.

don't know if graphic will save it...
it's just...empty. empty like a space,empty space.
and dull. it's more like primitive concept of something,hardly a game.
or maybe i just spoiled by galciv,dw,sots,x3 and bunch of other space games.
