Don't know why I lost my game..

1) Eliminate Lt. Kock
2) Eliminate Squads 4
3) Exit squads from battle 2
4) defend hex H6
5) defend hex I4

all done except one squad to kill, I expected a draw (at least)
X = kock eliminated
circles = hex objectives

I have to say, I've played this scenario 4 times and whilst I have never met ALL the criteria, I have met most on at least 2 occasions (like you only 3 out of 4 squads destroyed and another where I didn't kill Lt Koch)
Also - does the victory conditions change? Because one time in this scenario I had to kill Lt Koch (and I have to say I thought this was always the case) but in another, and strangely when I HAD killed Lt Koch, the victory conditions at the end (when it said I had failed again!) that the objective this turn was to kill Sgt Buamann!

I tried to look for the victory conditions in the manual but I didn't find nothing about it.
I though that key hexes are fundamental like other wargames, but I realized that if you don't accomplish the full list of duties it's likely that you are loosing your battle.

take loot at ...Gorbatov's charge
all conditions met, why minor, maybe because of the last turn ?
But I got no time limit, scenario length apart.

Yes, you have to meet all the victory conditions to win. When you meet them will define the degree of victory.

Because you did it on the very last turn. If you win before the last turn you will get higher victories.

Exactly. Power of victory depending on time like most other games with victory conditions. You slowpoke to victory you should get a minor. Win in 3/4's of the turns probably a major. Win in 1/2 the amount of turns a Desicive. [:D]

I played this scenario last night and did everything except kill both the German leaders and therefore lost the scenario! My victory conditions were to hold the 2 victory hexes, kill 4 squads, exit 2 squads, and kill BOTH leaders! I didn't kill either leader, but fulfilled the rest and lost. Is it possible that the victory conditions are different when playing at the easy, normal, or hard levels?

You're supposed to eliminate both leaders, though I think after each is eliminated they drop off the list. You guys were scaring me a little, so I played this last night (on Introductory because I forgot to change it). It was basically in the bag by turn 5 and I did win, so, pshew!
Things that not might be immediately obvious:
- Partisans having 0 FP and their low range means their opfire is not really very impressive. I saved opfire for adjacent shots into non-stone buildings only. The +2 bonus for adjacent is huge in comparison to their 0. They also are going to be terrible at melee, except for the hero.
- You can close assault vehicles by moving into the hex. This has fairly good odds of taking out the armored car and tank, and is much more likely to succeed if you're coming out of cover to do it.
- Partisans have an ability called Partisan Ambush which makes them really really mean in melee, but they have to be out of LOS of the target unit(s) before they start their move to do it. This can be difficult to do on this map depending on where the Germans are, but Elena being in the stack helps (the extra moves can be used to zip up to the front).
- Partisans are also limited to two squads in a stack unless Elena is with them, so, keep her alive.

No the VC remain the same no matter the difficulty setting.
Damit it Tom was faster off the mark....
The leaders names do drop off the list.
I forgot to exit 2 squads off the map on several occasions, thus not getting a better result.

Thanks - and sorry for the scare. I didn't realise they dropped off...just that in one I saw I had to eliminate Koch and the other when I eventually looked I had to eliminate Baumann
Thanks for the tips
