I just started to go through the German campaign and in the scenario when you are defending a factory block against Russians coming from several angles (sorry, I'm at work so can't check the exact name or number - maybe the 4th battle) Lt. Wurtz simply disappeared from my army. I went through the scenario and Wurtz was missing from the setup of the next battle too.

Is it intended or something went astray in my campaign?

What is the name of the scenario you are on, please?

I checked this at home and the guess was right, it is the 4th scenario of the German campaign called The Hedgehog. Here is a pic from the setup where Lt. Wurtz is missing.
