Mine if I ask a question?

I like to season my ports with mines, preferably the strong flavored one's that give a lot of pop when eaten, but when it comes to mines more the better is best no matter what kind, right? The IJ have a variety of mines with various effectiveness. My question is, if I season my ports with a variety of mines will the game mechanics recognize and make a die roll for which type mine is hit, or will it just default to a particular mine?

Thanks for asking this, on my mind as well as I frequently mix/match allied mine fields between both types and nationalities....

Spot on.

You'll see "xAK Onetime Minesweeperaru hits Mk VII Mine at San Franciso" if and when it does happen.

Thanks mind-messing. I never noticed that. I shall season my ports with whatever mines are at hand!

You can take this approach. It's probably "good enough."

However, I like to look at the 'effect' values of mines, and put my nice big ones in juicy places.

Each field you lay will have a chance to pop a ship depending on size, and each field can only have one type of mine. So yes, sow away. So if you had 10 fields with MK12 mines and 5 with MK10, the odds are that a MK12 will pop off first but you never know. I will have to check the editor but I think the accuracy rating for all mines is the same.
