This is the OOB for my TF1-36IN BN that will be used in my scenarios and campaign. I wanted to try and name the vehicles. Let me know if this is a good idea or not.
This is Alpha Company, Bravo and Charlie Company are the same.
Scout Platoon,
Mortar Platoon,
AT Platoon,

John, should not be a problem to name them as long as it works.

Yep, it works. Adding B/4-67AR to the TF.

And once you have done a core OOB like that you have the makings of a campaign.
I take a unit and put the OOB together in the map and then start adding scenarios with it being the core unit. The game will keep track of your losses for you so all you have to is add the enemy forces and the support for the next battle in line. What you will sometimes get a surprise with is the time of day. That depends on the losses you take and your reorganization and resupply times. I hate it when I think the next battle will be in daylight and I have CAS only to find I pushed the time into the dark.
Good Hunting.

Now that I'm back and feeling a lot better after surgery and with a major brain fart on how to work on the American User spreadsheet and after sending a message to Capn Darwin.
I have been working again on my campaign that I was working on back when this great game came out.
As you can see on the screenshot, I name the unit vehicles, for example CDR, XO, 1SG, PL and so on. I like to give the vehicles and units an identity to them.
Once I finished naming the vehicles and units, I will start to work on the Sqd infantry symbols from white to blue as it should be.
Seems I can't post screenshots until after my tenth post [:D]

Everything is coming along very well on the TF 1-36 Campaign. but I do have a question about the custom silhouettes ? I have a M113 silhouette that I would like to have the medic cross on the side of it. I'm not a graphics artist, is there somebody who can help with that?
I would like to have it on the side of the M577 as well. I will supply the silhouettes.

I need some help on creating a company. What I'm trying to create is an Engineer Company.
The part I'm having problem is what to use for the Tag of an Engineer Company? What I was trying to use %C/ seems to not work. Any idea on what I can use?
Engineer Company USN24 %C/ USN25, USN26, USN27
>Company HQ USN25 CHQ US53D, US53E, US43A, US212A
>Platoon HQ USN26 PHQ US53A, US53B
>Engineer Section USN27 %d/ US43C, US102A

In what way isn't it working? "%C" will give a capital letter as it's designation while "%d" gives a number. However, a tag will only work if the unit is a subunit of another unit as defined in the data file, not in the editor itself. If you created your Eng coy as it is now in the editor, it would ask you for a unit name so the tag in this case is irrelevant.
Also did you realise that you need to define a platoon? I'll give you an example below: (I'm also adding 3 platoons to the coy, and 3 sections per platoon for examples)
Code: Select all
Description Code Tag Composition ( Tags = 1A1/BR or RG name)
Engineer Company USN24 %C/ USN25, USN25A*3
>Company HQ USN25 CHQ US53D, US53E, US43A, US212A
>Engineer Platoon USN25A %d/ USN26, USN27*3
>>Platoon HQ USN26 PHQ US53A, US53B
>>Engineer Section USN27 %d/ US43C, US102A
To give an example of what the tags do; if you gave the coy the name 42ENG when you created it in the scenario editor, in the oob viewer it would look similar to this: (I've added the subunit descriptions to where they are in the oob)
Code: Select all
CHQ 42ENG <----Company HQ
|
| -PHQ 1/42ENG <----Platoon HQ
| |-1/1/42ENG <----Engineer Section
| |-2/1/42ENG
| |-3/1/42ENG
| -----
| -PHQ 2/42ENG |
| |-1/2/42ENG |---Engineer Platoon
| |-2/2/42ENG |
| |-3/2/42ENG |
| -----
| -PHQ 3/42ENG
|-1/3/42ENG
|-2/3/42ENG
|-3/3/42ENG
The "%d/" tags will give you sequential numbers for each sub unit.

Thanks, Plodder. I see what I did wrong, looking at your example. Wasn't sure on the use of the symbol > and >>
>Engineer Platoon USN25A %d/ USN26, USN27*3
>>Platoon HQ USN26 PHQ US53A, US53B
>>Engineer Section USN27 %d/ US43C, US102A

The > and >> are cosmetic in the list to show a step inward in the formation breakdown. They themselves do not control any code. That is all in the formation strings and callouts.

Crap, I'm still having problems. If I can't fix it, can I send the excel spreadsheet to one of you guys to take a look at it and see what I'm doing wrong with it.

This is about the stupidest thing I have seen so far from a Matrix Forum. I am not a happy camper when it comes to Matrix site.

I'm testing out my scenario and was wondering about why some of the units are moving on their own? is it because of double stack on units in one area and they are moving because of that or is it because of command radius?

HQs will move periodically to avoid getting radio fixed. Arty will move after shooting too. Other units should stay in place.

With the help and guidance from ThePlodder, I'm now working on my campaign pitting the US/West Germans against the Soviet/East Germans using the techniques that ThePlodder showed me.
In the mean time wanted to show the unit and equipment symbols that I'm adding.
