I just purchased Legion Gold since it looked good and it's on sale.
It installs okay and the intro video works but then the screen goes to 640x480 and the color is horrible.
I've tried several compatibility settings to no avail. Have I wasted my money?[&:]

the thread will help you, and no you haven't wasted your money, it's a good game, i still play dos games on windows 8.1 on the latest i7 with 16gb of ram and a fast video card, i use a dosbox to slow down my pc for old games and use a ram drive to speed up loading times etc with the latest ones, as even with 2x256 solid state drives i still don't like to wait for turns and loading etc

have fun and enjoy, never really had an old game that couldn't get to work on xp/win 7/8/8.1

Thanks.  It works in a DOS box.  I'm an old fart who spent 45 years as a computer tech so I remember DOS very well.  I did try it before but, being impatient, I tried skipping the intro video which really screwed things up.  When I let the intro video play through the game works perfectly.  I'll try this on some of my old favorites like Panzer General.
