Spotting and firing..

I expect it's for gameplay purposes but it feels odd not being able to fire at a hex when the unit knows the enemy is there but can't see them. Seems more realistic if we can fire but at a very reduced modifier with maybe the worse damage being shaken?

It's odd because the rule doesn't let you do something that you know you could even if your chance are 1%. But as a fast paced boardgame, I prefer this impulse system to the activation rules of Conflict of Heroes. In LnL I don't have to bother about which rules I need to position my units.
I guess I would have preferred a more detailed game, though. A chain of command of 2-3 levels of leaders for bonus and rallying, suppression fire with a keep-your-head-down-and-you-can't-fire status for targets, bigger maps, etc.
But now, I really enjoy the game as it is. It's a good boardgame system and the PC takes care of all the boring parts and small details hard to remember. It's intuitive, dynamic, easy to play, easy to understand even if you didn't read the rules (but I did. Almost). Because of this, I still categorized it as an upgraded "alcool & snack" game. Maybe rhum and tapas?
And I agree, maybe the most beautiful wargame I played board and PC games combined.

@macob..looking at the maps in the editor there are a couple of big ones in game. I too love detail and this game has just crossed the line in with enough depth and detail for me. I would love to lots of large map scenarios and more units aswell asbit more chrome here and there. Still I'm more than happy.

Margaritas and tapas?
You'll need to convert the game for iPad so we can play it on the beach!
Btw I've finished reading the rule book and it is nicely written. At first, I found that rules were not always presented in a logical order. But then I had this impression like if it was someone telling me how to play the game.
