Left click does not pause game and when single race is over there are nor results posted. First run through. Am I missing something.

That is correct. What left clicking do while in order phase is freezing the camera when you are scrolling, so you could inspect the situation at any place of the track. There is no pause during turns, if you are playing in static mode you should wait until the turn ends.

The result info in single player is quite simple, there are more result data and statistics while playing the campaign, to control your fame, finances, status and opposing leaders.
