The Battle of the Turtle Islands (1988) -- new scenario for testing

Here is my newest scenario, ready for beta testing. It assumes that, in 1988, Malaysia has annexed a few Philippine islands. Not surprisingly, the Philippines want them back!
Please let me know what you think. Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome. Thanks!

Major defeat! All of my ships were sunk by the coastal battery, and I didn't get a shot off at it. I sank three Malaysian ships and did OK against the A-4s though. I should have overflown the island before the bombardment group arrived in range to pin down the location of the battery, but even then it seems to outmatch the rather under-gunned and fragile patrol craft.
The scenario was fun and seems quite well balanced and realistic - nice work. Using Nomads as makeshift maritime patrol aircraft is a nice touch.

Yes, you have to get rid of the artillery before you move your ships into position. There's really no way for them to take it out by themselves. Bombing runs with F-5s are the only way to do it, I think...but watch out for the AA guns and that you don't blow up hapless villagers by mistake!

I think the last time I saved it I was using 499. I'm pretty sure the database is v. 408, the most recent one. I hope this helps.

I lost a Nomad and an F-5 trying to spot those damn 40mm positions.

Any other comments or suggestions? Or is this ready to send to the Community Scenario Pack? Thanks.

Its certainly difficult, I managed a major defeat as well. The only anomaly was the shore battery went walkabout and sailed out to sea somewhat. I destroyed that, but eventually was overwhelmed by aircraft and the better ships I was up against.
Very intricate and working well, but I'd like to know what tactics people used to get a win. I thought I was OK once the shore battery was done. I found the F-5's weren't great at taking on ships etc.
If I'd waited a lot longer separate strikes by them would have done it though, just can't do it all in the one go.

I found them to be pretty effective as long as you approach from the blind spots in the ships' AA weapons coverage.
