I have an army of N Virginia and a subordinate corp.. they are attacked near MAnases which is in Confederate hands.
After I successfully defend and win.. the corp is no longer there and its constituent parts are now inside the army of Northern Virginia? Why?
This corps has been in existance for awhile...

Check the battle results. Most likely your Corps commander was either KIA or WIA in the combat. Either way your Corps is now leaderless and you'll need to find another Corps commander, or keep the divisions under your army commander if the command malus isn't too high.

nope.. Longstreet was unhurt and formed right up afterward.. mayybe its not WAD in this instance... I understand ...
I just wanted to make sure I could have a army and a corps in the same zone.. I dont remember what the game calls each area... NICE game fyi.. I lowered the ai settings after getting beat on! love it!!!

Dropped it on the other stack? Operator error?

ok.. Both army and corp moved into the zone and fought..
But yes, questioning me is the first gambit for fixing an issue.. Lets hope it was OE, but if not it was not wad which since I am learning by doing why I came here ..

Perhaps, you accidentlly ordered Corps to merge with the Army on the move? We can say nothing specific if we do not have the save game?

OK, Im just happy its ok to have them in the same area.. again no saved game so its all speculative...

It’s possible you ordered your armies to merge when you plotted moves. If you accidently dropped the move plot of one stack onto the circle plot in the region for another stack, this orders the two stacks to combine during the move. Only way to check to see if this happened is to go back a turn and read the text line that describes a stacks move plot. The stack that was ordered to merge should have the stack name of the other stack as its final destination.
