Does the color of the horse bar make a speed difference?

I had previous asked about the relationship between the length of the horse bars and the max speed and Daniel the developer replied that it was the sum of the length of the horses' bars that reflected the max speed. After some more races I have another question; does the color have any affect on the speed? I'm thinking no, it just reflects the decrease in endurance, but I'll throw the question out here just to see peoples' opinions.

The color is representing the percentage of the bar that you have lost by damage, for example if you lost half, the bar will have an orange tone, becoming more reddish as damage increases

Well, I'm glad I'm asking these questions because I keep finding out that my impressions are sometimes off the mark. Thanks for correcting me [:)].

I'm at 119 races in my current campaign and I keep seeing things I didn't see before. Like the following at the Circus Maximus. It's just the start of the last lap. I'm near the front and I heard a roar from the crowd, so I had to zoom out and get this screenshot. There was only one crashed chariot when I went around that corner; now there are five. And three aurigas hanging on to the reins. Always a fun time for the crowd at the Circus Maximus!

I beleive the colour does also affect the speed of the horse team, I have seen chariots that were once going much faster than me get their horses damaged by whipping or whatever and then I start catching them up. I think once you get a horse out of the green it can start affecting the team speed as that horse slows down the others.

In Circus Maximus, the boardgame that this is based on, each horse in the team has a speed rating (shown by the green bar in this game) and it is the summary of all of those individual horse speeds that go into making the overall team speed, so if one horse is damaged it will drag down the overall team speed. I think in this game the colour of the bar probably reflects whether there is any reducion in the horses speed, which will reduce the overall team speed accordingly.
