Hello,

I'm starting to make a Heroes Of the Gap mods for this game using The Lock 'n Load module.

For now i have made all graphic countersheets files for both side (US and USSR).

All the infantery counters :

All the weapons :

The whole .BMP files in a single ZIP archive :

The whole .PSD (Photoshop format) template files in a single ZIP archive :

http://wargameinfrance.free.fr/download ... mplate.zip

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now if someboby want to work on this mod, this is the works to do :

- Weapons countersheet image files (I'm currently working on it) ---> Done
- Excel files (XLS and CSV) for all the units (That's a hard work to do...)
- Map making (i still have the image file)
- Scenario files

I will edit this post once the works progress...

Hope you find it interresting, because i think we can do this work for all the Lock 'n Load modules.

Regards

Bongo

Interesting stuff.... where are you getting the graphics files from?

Also I'm not sure that the game engine as it is will be able to handle ATGM depletion or helicopters or thermal sights or moving fire but the rest should work.

I wanted first to scan the counters from my paper's game, but it was a pain because they have to be scan one by one...
And then i take the graphics from the vassal's module, that's more easy.

And yes you're right ; i don't know if the system works for this kind of modern conflicts. I sincerely hope that Matrix games and Lock 'n Load publishing make very soon a DLC or an another entire game to cover this. Immediately, i will buy a copy of that... I think it will be a more professionnal work than i can do.

I thought I recognised the graphics as being from the vassal module. I built that module. It's a good idea to use them.... faster than scanning or making your own. I got them from Mark to make the vassal module.

I too hope they make more to work with the modern stuff like Heroes of the Gap, Forgotten Heroes and Day of Heroes.

You have my congratulations for the very well job done on the vassal module's graphics.
This module openned me a new dimension for a game it is very hard for me to find opponents in real life.
Thanks to your job, i finded opponents who don't live near me to play with.
And now, thanks to the work made on this computer game, i can play alone (against my computer...).
That's always the problem to find opponents and to find time and space to play together.
As Heroes Of the Gap (and its "Honneur et Patrie" extension - sure, i'm french [;)]) is my favorite Lock 'n Load games, i am very excited to think that maybe one day i'll could play it in my computer too.

Hi,

I edited the first post to add weapons countersheet and corrected infantery countersheets (adding missiles counter and minor corrections)

Now, Arts should be complete.

Thanks! These are great. I used the T-72 in a custom scenario.

Wow, excellent work.

Small nit pick: CPT is the US Army abbreviation for O-3 Captain. Capt is the Navy abbreviation for O-6 Captain.

Also, I like the ode to Team Yankee
