Podengo Monday (1968) -- new scenario for testing

Here is the beta version of a nice Cold War scenario, Portugal vs. some older Soviet units that have been sold to Tanzania. Tanzania is supporting the rebels in Mozambique, which was still a Portuguese colony in 1968. Portugal is upset about this, and concerned that Tanzania's new military might does not bode well for the future of the region. They decide to take action!

As always, please let me know what you think, if you have suggestions, or if you spot any errors, etc. Thanks!

Any comments or observations on this one? Or is it ready to submit for the Community Scenario Pack? Thanks!

All working as intended I suspect, but its a pretty tough scenario, which may be intended. Essentially the Thunderjets struggle with Mig 21's, at most I was getting a 1-1 kill ratio, and there are more of them. As a result the Neptunes struggle to locate the group, my sub ran out of battery, and the air strikes struggled to find a target.
To be truthful, it could have been incompetence, but I found the guns only F-84 really had a hard time of it, I managed to spectacularly lose one in a fight vs a Madge [:'(], surely a record. At least the gun turrets work!

The group itself is pretty fragile and a single Neptune managed a successful rocket attack. (Probably one Skory down)

I'd love to hear from others, perhaps the F-84 need to be higher proficiency or the Mig 21 lower? Not at all sure.

I liked the special messages, and the unusual area and types, although I struggled I suspect this one is close to done to be truthful.

It's courious as in my game the ratio was 5:1 in favor of the F-84, in most cases the Migs didn't fire any AA-2 before they were shotdown by the F-84 guns, I sent the F-84 in pairs; maybe it was the cadet level of the Migs.

Good point on using the combat pairs, will try this again. Presume you got the win overall then?
If so suspect all working.

Hi guys, in reality the F-84 is no real match for a Mig-21 if flow by a Soviet Pilot but in other hands the F-84 maybe able to hold its own to a certain extend etc

Great scenario!

I don't know If I was too aggressive in my quest for air superiority, but I pretty much shot down any Mig that ventured outside of Tanzanian SAM coverage. The "appear to threaten your mission" part of the briefing was pretty loose on the ROE. I also never encountered any Migs in bigger formations (mainly just singles), and always had the number game going for me, even though the migs apparently are the better aircraft.

The ESM suite on the Neptunes gave away the Tanzanian naval group early on. Then I was careful to identify them as hostile (lost an F84) before conducting a real three dimensional attack on them, with subsurface, air and surface platforms.

I missed the intel about the submarine in the briefing. That sounds like quite an important part of information that the commander wants to know from the beginning to properly handle ASW ops. Did not encounter any Russians though.

Other observations:
I had to manually manage my neptunes when dropping torpedoes on the sub since they where not able to turn properly to reach their weapon envelope on their own. Maybe something for the devs?
