Convoy Hijack

Situation
Allied Naval Movement Phase

Checking on the Production at beginning of turn to see if USA resource to China is holding steady. (Changsha mystery post continued) So far so good.

Except for one problem.

The US hijacks the French convoy point to transport the resource to china. Leaving the American convoy alone. The French resource does not hijack the American convoy point.

How do i get the french convoy to ship French resource and American convoy to ship American resource?
Save file is at beginning of Naval movement.

Probably you need to establish a default route for both that includes using their own CPs. I think the game will try to use a country's own CPs first.

Another possibility is that the game doesn't recofnize that US CPs are allowed for lending US resources to China.

So this is a known bug? What we are doing to make it work is the workaround?

I stopped the USA from sending a resource to China. Now sending France resources and the damnable program picks resources in the UK. Which i have to idle like i did with the US resources earlier.

It takes a hell of a lot of time to go through and set this up by turning everything idle. And as i have found out. There is no way to know if something else turns up in the convoy line.

I could just not lend resources. But that is not the way i want to play the game.

Warhunter, can you send me gamesaves of your production issues? I took a new approach, collecting gamesaves per subject and listing them together for Steve to go through them more efficiently. This goes very well with Supply triangle bugs currently and I would like to prepare for the production bugrelease in the same way.

AxeINL, Here are the 3 found so far.

3 files contains the following.

Changsha file, USA using convoys of the CW and France to send resource to china. When sent to china sending to Changsha factory instead of Kunming.

US_France file, USA hijack of French convoy point to send resource to China. French unable to send resource in Idochina to France.

England_France file, 2 resources sent to France from the UK. This is the most frustrating to date. Convoy is set up to send resources to England on a one way system. The program then screws it up by sending 2 resources out of England. Should it not pick resources like Cyprus. I just bit the bullet for England production and continued.

I'm sure these will not be the last ones for the current game.

Thanks - trick is to have a gamesave per type of problem.

I tried the England-France file and defaulted Cyprus and Dutch Guyana to go to France. That seemed to work. It's hard to feature how the program could always make the right choices, depending on the situation. Lends always have priority so the program must try to get them to ship before any of your "own" resources. For Lends I think the best thing is to first pick the resources you want to send and set them and their routes as defaults.

In the Kunming file, I was not able to get the US to stop using the French CP so it may be the program does not realize the US CP can be used once the US is allowed to lend to China.

There's no question it's frustrating and time consuming to try and get all the production to work desirably.

Frustrating? Try impossible.

I still have never once seen a BP from Japan in the US. And it's the same going the other way - any BP's the US lends are not sent, nor are they removed from US production. Kind of makes up for the fact that the UK can ship all of their resources without having a single convoy point at sea.

The production manager is broken.
