V2.0 will not recognize V1.4 PBEM files

After upgrading to V 2.0, none of my incoming pbem files from opponents who have also upgraded will work. They show as Saved Game, not PBEM Saved files. and they come up blank when opened, ie there is map but no units, no bases. etc. Happened with two different opponents. I unintalled the game, reinstalled and reapplied the patch. Same negative results.
