On the road from Manila to Clark Field these units took a wrong turn in Manila? DaBigBabes Mod/Beta 1123x4.
This is PBEM but I've seen it happen in a couple of BabesMod AI games before. Pretty sure the road from Manila to Clark Field doesn't go East.

There are some units in manila that start the game with move orders. Don't remember where they were headed, but that could be them.

I recall the same thing. I think that is the location, too.

OK, the orders do apparently exist to march off into never-never land. WHY?

I suspect it's a legacy of what orders those units were thought to have when the OOB was first put together.

It seems highly unlikely that Admiral Hart would have been contemplating setting up his Fleet HQ in a thatched hut in the Philippine countryside. Given the relations between the Army and the Navy it also seems highly unlikely that General MacArthur would have committed his best infantry units to guard that hut. What would be the source used to document these supposed orders?
I messed up in my PBEM by not checking closely enough. At this point that is an "Oh #@$%". But I don't think it should remain as the default order for these units either. The infantry units all have their objective set as Bataan. Perhaps the scenario database needs to be updated/fixed.

I agree. It is a pain to have to remember to "FIX" those move orders at the start of every game. GP

Remember that the maps have changed since first release. It might have been somewhere that was not a thatched hut in the countryside they were moving to upon first release. That is one problem with legacy issues. [:)]
