I receives VP-71 in SF but it had no PBY-4. I was going to set it to train when I thought VP-21 is about to be withdrawn and it has PBY-4 so I flew it from Midway to SF, yes the 4s can reach that far, and withdrew the unit into VP-71. Good, that worked I'll fly it back to Midway next turn but as it turned out I didn't need to do that, I can fly it this turn. The aircraft have from from Midway to SF, done a little bit of paper work (which would probably take a day in itself) and back in 24hrs. This should not be possible

Warp Engines maybe. Well similarly, A ground unit takes 7 days or so to arrive on the west coast from the east coast, But a air unit takes 2 days, which is fine , but arrives with all units damaged, like it was shipped in pieces. or on a xAK. Just a little strange.

I've noticed this as well. I don't consider it a big deal, as it's usually fragments of units that make the "double hop" - usually no more than a few planes.

Distance traveled is held at the group level, not with the plane.
Penalizing the group that planes are transferred to could generate more problems under the current structure. e.g. Using your example, transfer one plane; make the VP-71 have same traveled distance as VP-21; none of planes in VP-71 (assume that they had 16 original planes) could fly just because you transferred one plane. This could be extremely severe if the units were in combat; suddenly transferring in one plane from a group that just moved into AF stops the other ready planes from taking off.
While there are plane status values, there isn't really one to say 'cannot fly until the next turn' (apart from making damaged which them would need to be repaired using supply/AV/etc).
If the planes themselves had such a status, then doing the above could delay the transferred planes for a turn IF the transferee had earlier moved.

As I said its no biggy, first time I've seen it to this extent. I have seen the effect with fragments though. Simply answer is to control yourself and not do the impossible.
