Hi all. My basic version of a Platoon level game for Command Ops is now available for download. My "Charge of the Pioneers" scenario covers the first hours of Operation Hubertus, the German attempt to eliminate the remaining pockets of Soviet resistance inside Stalingrad.

As the German commander you are in control of a reinforced battalion, comprised of German Pioneers and infantry as well as two StuG III platoons.

As the Soviet commander you are in control of the remnants of two Soviet Rifle regiments, supported by static T-34 tanks and some static Workers militia sections that are still holding portions of the Red October and Lazur factories.

Thanks Cap. Was really looking forward to trying this. I like the look of the map. I downloaded the files and put them in the obvious places. Crashes on start, every time - 'has stopped working' before the map can load. Is there something else I should be doing? I'm running on the latest beta (278).

UPDATE: OK. I opened the estab in the estab editor and compiled it. Now it works.

Hi Phoenix. I am glad it is working. I am running version 264 still. I've not patched.

I downloaded all Eastern Front scenarios and they all have the EFSTEstab files. Is Charge of the Pioneers the latest one, and if I put it in the Estabs folder will it work with other EF scenarios?

Hi Macob30. The Charge of the Pioneers has the most updated version of my Eastern Front estab. So if you put that version of the estab into your estab folder all of the other scenarios should play as well.

Thanks CapHillrat. By the way, I've just discovered your blog and downloaded all your scenarios. This is a huge work! Their diversity adds a lot of "flavor" to CO. Can't wait to try Stalingrad.

What did you do to convert the older scenarios, macob? I am running 278 too and can't, so far, get these EF scenarios to work. I can compile the estab and get past an opening crash, but now I have crashes elsewhere - on exit, for example. What do I need to do? (I'm guessing, since you're running 278 too that you will need to fix these too as Caphillrat is still using an older build). Compile the estab, re-save the maps? Anything else - to convert them for use in 278? Thanks.

Hi Phoenix. I believe you need to open up the map in mapmaker and compile it as well as open the scenario in the scenario maker and save it.

I didn't install CapHillrat's scenarios yet, only downloaded them. You may have to re-compile the Estab file with the Editor. In the File menu:

1- Open estab file
2- Save it
3- Compile Estab File

I really hope it will work with .278 as they look great, especially Volga, and I'm really curious about how good is the platoon scale.
