I was enjoying a Solitaire Global War in Mar/April 1940 when I entered a new subphase I have never encountered before. Air Reorganization: CAP. The button to end the subphase was not available. There was nothing I could do to continue the game. I know this was a bug, because when I saved the game, and reloaded it at that point, the map boxes were flashing and it attempted to send an error message through Windows Live Mail, which I don't use and am not set up for. Two other noteworthy points for possible troubleshooting, Under Command, all the boxes to skip all the CAP phases were checked, even though I never checked them. I'm very new to the game, and have gone further in Solitaire play than this game allowed before voluntarily starting over, but I never encountered the subphase 'Air Reorganization: CAP', where the game bug stopped me dead in my tracks. This was my first game where I wasn't using the 'Oil Rule' if that could possibly have anything to do with anything. I hate having to start over again, because I had a good game going. Especially if I am destined to run into this GAME KILLING BUG again!

The game makes autosaves in almost every phase. Could you load one from just before the Air Reorganization phase you are stuck in? Zip it, and post it here? Than we can have a look at it.

I can't help you with this report I'm afraid.

But I can help you with the "zipping over"

1. Locate your gamesave folder using the Windows explorer (press the windows flag key between the Ctrl and Alt key together with the "e" key to bring up the explorer). The saved games are located in the scenarios folder of your MWIF folder. Look in the folder of the scenarioname you played, the autosaves are in the Autosave folder, split by side in a Axis and Allied folder. Pick the one you were playing last.
2. Filter on the time saved by clicking on the "date modified" tag above the datestamps of the files and choose one of the latest autosaves.
3. right click on the autosave you picked and look for an option to Zip them (try "send to.."), you might have to search the internet for a free zip tool which you can install
4. In the forum choose the "post reply" button just above the "Fast Reply" form in the bottom. The form which opens lets you post a file in the forum via an option just below the box in which you can type. It only accepts ZIP or certain graphic formats, like jpg.

As I do not know which part is unknown to you, I have listed all steps - although for a casual reader that might look as if I think you are without basic PC knowledge. That was not the intention, and as you listed the bug report content I think you can focus on step 4.

For what it's worth, if I go back and play the game from a previous saved phase, the game still hits the same brick wall when I reach the Air Reorganization: CAP phase, since the button to move to the next phase does not highlight to click on it. I wish to repeat that I have never even seen a 'CAP subphase' in previous Solitaire Global War games I have started before, where I actually progressed further into 1941. The only difference is in this game with the bug, I wasn't using the 'Oil Rule', because I feel it is too restrictive on keeping enough Axis units active. I was really enjoyig the game more without the Oil Rue, when I came across this bug, which virtually ended the game in Mar/April 1940.

I see this file has been downloaded three times before I did - you did probably some experimentation, or others are looking at it also right now.

What I see in 1.1.7.9:

Under "Command" you can pull down a menu where you can click on "disable phases". I see that in your game all CAP for all nations has been disabled. This means that the game should have ignored the phase you are currently stuck in.
But it doesn't and after the last rebase of Japan jumps to Fukuoka "touching" the Carrier based air on the top of the stack - while it is the German part of the CAP phase. German air transport and fighters are all spent, Japan has some carrier based air left, and no air transport.

This bug is unknown - and I cannot remember seeing or reading post from others reporting about this.

Than the bad news: this probably means your game has become damaged, and the internal structure became corrupt. My hypothesis is that this happened during loading/unloading of the japanse carriers in Fukuoka.
I do not play with Carrier air, but I do have a question. Did you do "undo" during in the phase you were assigning carrier air units to the carriers? Or did you cancel such assignments?
I ask this as there is a known problem with the form where you load a naval transport. When undo-ing or cancelling or re-assigning units on the transporter the game instance you play can get damaged. Perhaps this could have happened with your game during the carrier air assignments as well.

My only advice is to go back to a (auto)save from before you assigned those carrier air units and replay from there - taking care to place them audaciously without cancels or undo's. It is a long bet - but there is a chance this could help you.

I can't help you further - I'm afraid.

PS: When you are progressing again: - looking at the place the Chinese units are: load some fast japanese units on a TRS, do a combined, ship them to Canton and let the party begin.

I encountered this once before as well and was able to fix it. It was a little while back, so the details are hazy but here's what I remember if it's any help...

It happened the turn after a new major power entered the war, and I'm thinking it was either following a Japanese DOW on Free France or someone DOW'ing Vichy, but that could be wrong. For some reason, the newly activated country defaulted to all CAP phases enabled, and for some reason that enabled all CAP phases for all countries, even though the boxes were unchecked. By disabling all CAP phases for the one country that entered the war with them turned on, all CAP phases were once again disabled for everyone, and I was able to progress again.

You might want to check based on what Zartacla wrote what happened with him when there is a big DoW. If you see this happening, posting a savegame where it can be reproduced will be the base of the cure.

The problem is that there is a unit in the Naval Abort Queue and the program should be displaying that form before terminating the Air Reorganization phase (there are no units capable of being reorganized using air units).

I'll investigate this some more later to see why the Naval Abort Queue form isn't being displayed.

It is possible it's there but stuck behind another form. You could try rolling up any forms on the screen to see if that's the issue.
