Germany : Not all Germans shared the frenzy of sorrow after the death of Herr Hitler, but the new government came in pledged to set Germany on the path to her proper place in the world. Germany will have to make adjustments in her borders, but she does not desire a general war. Germany hopes that calmer heads prevail in European state departments, and that if technical state of war exists temporarily during the adjustments theses tense periods can be wound down rapidly.
Italy : Mussolini greets the new German government and has decided to tie her fortunes to Germany for now. The powers who gained in the unfair treaties after the Great War must make some room for nations which were wronged.
Germany and Italy have no desire for a repeat of the world war, but they must take their places in the world.
(Technical question) How do the new roads and railroads work?

Germany : It is time to announce the new German Head of State. In the most surprising choice for a leader in modern times, an eleven year old has been chosen to lead Germany. He is said to have a real presence about him and his leadership skills are flawless. He impresses all he meets.
Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger, German Head of State
Born April 16th, 1927
Religion : Roman Catholic.
(Technical) I see that my question is answered in the good notes to the 2.17 scenario. Railroads cannot be built by Engineers. .
My first thoughts are that this will make trains a bit less valuable, and increase fuel consumption a bit. For the future I might like "rails can be laid only by L2 engineers, and are more costly and difficult to build."

The Imperial Japanese Emperor sends his condolences to the German people over there great loss. The Japanese Emperor is a god so it is unlikely that he will suffer the same fate as Herr Hitler.
Japan welcomes the eleven year old Chancellor Ratzinger and is delighted that Germany is embracing youth over experience.
The Chinese still stubbornly refuse to accept Japanese Hegemony of South East Asia.

The Soviet People are surprised at the demise of Herr Hitler, but Germany has already begun a course to defy the Versailles treaty by reclaiming the Rhineland. Questions remain, will the Germans continue down and this course of aggression, or become a peaceful power. The Soviets are mostly indifferent, and are working to spread the revolution to as many parts of the world as possible.
Game Note: You can only set one type of roadbuilding for engineers, in the editor. I think there is a workaround, but, it is fiddly.

(Technical) When I opened the German T2 I did not see any report on the production. Both sides of the report were blank. I did not see supply, PP, or any units built (don't think I built any). This is the first time I have ever seen this in any game of ATG.

Germany and Italy are now formally allies.
The Soviet Union questions if Germany is going to be a peaceful nation. We answer that we are going to be as peaceful as any of the Great Powers, Each nation has its goals for the future and none of us can accomplish them without conflict. Germany is no longer driven by Herr Hitler's demons, but like each of the powers we have an agenda. The USSR cloaks its goals in the fleece of communism, Great Britain, America and France in that of capital, China and Japan in Greater Asian prosperity, but we each plan campaigns. Enough posturing, war is in all of our futures. We all prepare for it, and at some point it will be initiated.
Germany and Italy have goals but we do not need territory from all nations equally. There are powers that we do not have any designs on, and we will explore partnerships with such nations. We are aware that each power will act in its own interest, but we think there are mutually advantageous combinations.

For some reason Germany never sees those stats. Your production is occurring though.

(Technical) Thank you gentleman, and good morning.
(InGame) The German ministry wises to address reaction to the chancellor's speech. Herr Ratzinger did not say that Germany is going to war tomorrow. Rather think of our policy as interest based realpolitik. As Bismarck made a German state, so we will expand it. The Great War was horrible for Germany and the other powers. After that trauma there was talk of disarmament and arbitration. That was twenty years ago, and times have changed. Now the very term "powers" may be obsolete. Perhaps we are entering an age of "superpowers", nation states so large and powerful as to have global ambitions. Herr Ratzinger knows Germany is not yet in that class of nations, and his mandate is to place Germany, or a coalition of states lead by Germany into that class. Like it or not, Italy cannot aspire to such status, but in concert with Germany we have a chance. To think that these new superpowers will not resort to arms is incorrect, and Germany is not led by men under that delusion. The average man in the street does not want war, but they do not want to be dominated by others either. German and Italian leadership is confident the people understand this situation and will bravely stand by the nation.

Stalin, who shares his first name with the new German head of State, has other things to focus on. The Soviet Union needs a strong leader, a leader with vision. A leader like Lenin, but better. Stalin knows this, and has begun rereading all the works of the Great leader Lenin. The workers paradise will soon be an even better place to be a citizen in, as the visions of Lenin are put to work, and the visions of Stalin likewise.

The Peoples paradise, also known as the Soviet Union, has little to report this turn. Friendly overtures have been sent to the workers of the world. The volunteers from the Spanish civil war are returning home, and despite the loss to the troops under General Franco, the volunteers are viewed as heroes. It takes courage to go out and fight for the ideals of socialism and communism alike. In honor of their homecoming the VVS has started a new drive to get recruits, new pilots. All skilled pilots will be taught how to fly in the I-15 Polikarpov, which has shown great durability in the conflict in Spain.
Game Note: I had some trouble with my mouse, it kept double clicking instead of single clicking, causing me to influence Denmark, instead of the country I wanted. I got frustrated and closed the turn. Hence it now reads I´ve opened the turn twice.

Germany and Italy are enjoying a vigorous road racing competition!
(Technical) I am sorry about having to open the turn 5 twice. I accidentally gave nearly all of European Italy to Germany.
I have no idea what complications this would cause, but I assure you I did not intend it.)

Not a problem you would have to replay the turn that may have caused the loss of two turns of Italian production, something the Axis cannot afford.

You guys know I have a bug of sorts in my computer? With Matrix games I can shut the game down randomly with mouse clicks, sometimes to fast sometimes no reason? When that happens I have no choice but to open the game again. I save after each side if I control more then one so if it happens I don't lose several sides turns.
It only happens with matrix games for some reason. I think it was from a mouse program I loaded but i can not find it to remove it. I deleted the program but not the bug.

(gonna ruin this AAR thread a bit but okay)
Twotribes you do realize that the mouse you use has its own little program right? Logitech has its own program for mice (mouses?) and so does Mircrosoft. Probably something wrong there, probably a double click shortcut or something.

Yes this was an add on program as I recall something to do with extra commands. I use logitech now but don't think it was logitech then.
