Just had a Typhoon FGR4 (2011) automatically select a Queen Elizabeth class carrier as a base and then successfully landed on it, maybe needs looking at?

How does that work now? How do the game decide what planes can land and take off from carriers. In NWAC each plane had runway requirements like long runway (airfield), short runway (carriers) and helipad (vertical TO and landing). Haven't seen anything like that in the plane specs of the videos I've seen. But they have been build 438 and I see they are at build 517 now.

Hey Rockingham. We'll take a look. Chance are it could land but could not take off. It has to do with the flags set on the aircraft itself.
BTW not Rockingham NC is it? Pretty sure I want to a Lalapalooza there sometime in the late 90's. There is the race too!

So how do command decide what aircraft can operate from a carrier? Like if I was making a scenario, how do I know what aircrafts can be operated from a carrier?

There is a value in the database. You can see this in the viewer.

Not to derail this thread, but i'm pretty sure that as of Build 507 you could put any aircraft on a carrier :p

Just wait for those magnetic catapults on the new carriers... [:D]

Haha, hi mikmyk nope just a random name that came to the forefront of my mind. Haven't tried getting it off yet so you're probably right.
Just had the same thing happen with a Super Etendard, maybe the classification of the QE carriers needs re-thinking because they're STOVL rather than CATOBAR or STOBAR?
Thanks for the rapid response!

Typhoon successfully launched from a QE carrier.

Is this still a problem in scenarios using v417+ DBs ?
