[WAD] Range of AN/BQS-15

It look like AN/BQS-15 has range of less than 1/2 nm. Rising mine detonates at larger distance. Possibly it should work this way, but on the other hand quite modern sub (SSN Virginia) has Mine Avoidance sonar wich is useless for stated purpose.

Please see sample scen - Virginia is blow up before detecting mine, Zumwalt is able to detect it and avoid.

Best Regards

Was this a rising mine? They are _very_ difficult to detect.

I believe the AN/BQS-15 sensor range is correct. Rising mines are a real b*tch so guess neither system should be very capable against them? So if something's wonky it is probably the Zumwalt's nav & mine avoidance sonar range that is too long (which has been guessimated by me [8D]).

Thanks!
