I have a box in the upper left corner of the map which, in red, displays the fps for the game and some other information. This prints over other information in that corner. I have searched the manual and cannot find how to shut this feature off. Is there a way to shut this off?

you've enabled 'error checking' (something like that) in the options screens before you load the game.

find that one, I forget exactly where it is in PoN, but its one of the sequence of in-game options such as sound, AI behaviour etc and all will be as you wish [:)]
