My opponent and I have been playing a PBEM game of BTR for about 250 turns now, and his computer has died. He now has a new computer, but he can not get our PBEM file to load and our game to work. He has the "name" that he used on the original computer, but he gets a message that reads something like "User is denied access to this saved game". Also, the photos of the German planes and pilots show up, which is correct because he's playing the German side, but the game just won't load.

Does anybody have any ideas of how to fix this?

Same thing happened to me. There is a certain file that needs to be copied over to keep the game going. Does he still have access to the old computer and can he get to the files? I'll have to go back into the playtesters forum and see which file you'll need.

Here is what you need.

keep the btruser.dat file. It should be in the \dat folder of the game, but Windows may hide it.
