It’s dropped to number 9 by the time I looked, but more alarmingly, it isn’t even listed in the top 100 games played today. A farming simulator made the top 100 with about 1000 people playing it today but not DW. I don’t think a complex game like this will do very well on Steam sad to say, I just hope all the negative reviews about no flashy graphics don’t hurt the game.

I saw Distant Worlds in Steam's top seller list when I woke up this morning. What a great start to a great saturday! Congratulations to Elliot and the team for this outstanding success and for pulling off what popularly seems to be regarded as the greatest 4X game in recent times (In my own opinion, this is indeed the best strategy game since Civilization 1).

I personally don't like Steam, but from a business standpoint it seems it was a good decision. More fans of the game is never a bad thing. Means more mods and more longevity. [:)]

I encourage all of you old school DW vets to do as some of us are doing and get on the Steam forums. Answer peoples' "Is it worth it?" "Why $50 for a 4 year old game?", "Is it any good?" questions. Let's help Elliot & Erik out with some grass roots marketing.

I sincerely hope that DW is high on the steam list because it has sold quite a lot. And not because nothing else sold much either.

May the banks of Matrix and Elliot soon panic due to their bank accounts causing integer overflow after massive DW profits

Indeed, you guys are kicking up a storm over there - good idea that. Obviously people will realise fans are supporting the game, but that speaks well of it, and if nobody starts "this is actually a pile of crap" type stuff, which obviously they won't 'cos it isn't, the word will out. I'd be tempted to organize a rota

Had a gaming guildmate message last night about this cool new game he's playing, completely forgetting that I had been trying to get him to try DW a couple years back. LOL!
