Will someone please remind me which png file is used for defensive bases? I cannot seem to remember the right one.

It really needs its own image, as does one for a starbase.

Darn. I thought I had tried that. I'll give it another go. So far, the medium space port keeps popping up for defensive bases, but I know I successfully changes it back in RotS.

No, genericbase.png must not be right for defense bases. When it is changed, all that changes in-game is the science bases. Somewhere along the way, things got messed up and now the defensive base default is the same as the medium space port. This needs to be fixed.

Defense bases use the same graphic as the medium starport.

Yea the def base uses the med spaceport image by default, but you can just use the image dropbox when designing a new def base to something else or even a custom image.

That is what comes up for me; I usually change it to another image before the game gets underway.

Yea the game is coded for just those 26 image files so you cannot add any additional files for the base to that family folder. It's kinda overkill but you could make an additional family folder with 26 custom image files that you can use for whatever. I do that when late game and I want to change my ship/base images to look more "advanced" or "powerful" compared to early/mid game.

For example lets say your last folder is "family26", just create a new "family27" folder and with the all the appropriately named files as if you're adding new race ships. I've found that the game will still load the images and can be used by the player in-game, even if they are not scripted for any in-game race.

Thank you, I knew there was a way, with increasing age the RAM tends to be rather full and you forget things, I can now have the separate images again for the defense base and starbase [:)]

That does not solve the problem of setting up separate, unique images for other races' forts in a mod. You can only change to an alternate images for the race you are playing, as I have been doing. We need a unique, definable image for forts for multiple races mods.
