EDIT: yes, I tried to search options and empire policies etc but to no avail. Not going to watch the tutorials again for this.

Found the suppress option in options, at least it turns the sound off..

Darn, missed the "Show message settings on the bottomn.. Me and my wooden eyes.. Thanks again !!

Ya, turning them off for exploration ships and civilian ships is a must, even in the early game. In the late game I often wish I had specific settings for fleeted and un-fleeted ships, because I always have swarms of un-fleeted escorts flitting about my Empire doing whatever it is they do and constantly getting attacked, while my fleets are usually much more stationary and should only come under attack if I really need to know about it anyway.

Man, if someone finds the setting for 'Out of Fuel' messages i will be your best friend.
They pop up like every half second for each ship that's low on fuel >.<

I'm also still looking for a way to disable the smuggling ship popup.. It was not found in the options or at least I did not see it.
