I enountered a crash when my exploration ship arrives at a dead zone, I loaded the game and sent my exploration ship there again to confirm the crash is directly related.
I use windows 7 x64,and I'm pretty sure I'm using latest drivers.
I've uploaded the savefile named hyno111-exploreD7.zip, as the name suggests, just use editor to put an exploration ship in the dead zone in D7 to reproduce the issue. The crash dump is in the zip file.

I just experienced the same bug, and it occurred again when I reloaded. I can upload a save, but it is based on the Distant Worlds Universe Extended theme, so could be a pain for you to test...

I can't wait to see that patch. I have found the same bug in my own game. I even started a new game and used the game editer to find it and it still crashed.
I wonder Which line of story quests is the dead zone linked to.
